Investiture of the new President, LST-Manila

Categories: Uncategorized

Fr. Mario Francisco, after a one-year sabbatical in the US, officially started his term as President of the Loyola School of Theology upon his investiture last June 27.

His task is to continue LST’s fine tradition of excellence as a center of theological and pastoral reflection and formation. He is further mandated to make LST more broadly "Asian" in culture and curriculum, to take on a larger role as a resource for improving religious education in the different Jesuit schools in the Philippines, and to make sure that LST maintains its tradition of service to the local churches and to the Hierarchy of the Philippines (Fr Daniel Huang SJ, Message at the Installation).

As a long-term partner of the Assistancy when he was the Director of the EAPI, we are happy to see Fr Mario in his new mission. He is assured of the Assistancy’s support in strengthening the Asian character of the LST program.
