September 2006 Updates from Faber House Community

Categories: Uncategorized

In his letter dated July 31, Fr Adolfo Nicolas, confirmed the change of residence of Fr Ludovico Ryu Hyomh-nyol (KOR) from Faber House to AIR and, as such, relieved of his duty as the Minister of Faber House community, which will be taken care by Br Dinh Ngoc Tihn (ASL), Minister of Arrupe House. Moreover, Fr Manny Flores (PHI), will reside in Faber House to accompany the community while at the same time retaining his office and work in AIR. On August 02, Fr Momose conducted the blessing of the Faber House. With Fr Nicolas, we thank Fr Ludovico for his willingness to serve and for his presence in the Faber House community, and we as well thank Fr Manny Flores for his availability in accompanying the Arrupe scholastics residence of Faber House.

August 12 was the climax of exodus where all the members of Faber House packed their belongings and moved to Manila Observatory building within Ateneo milieu. Life at MO is fabulous. The rooms are spacious, the air is fresh, and the quality of table conversations has improved tremendously. Theologians are in good shape, and quite happy to be at MO. In the meantime, they are all busy with mid-term exams. We say kudos to the final year theologians, Christian Perera (SRI), Sahayanathan Thurairasa (SRI), Andrew Pham Hoa Lac (VIE), and Dominic Pham Minh Thang (VIE), for their good performance in Ad Aud confessions exams. With the inspiration of the Holy Spirit they made their diaconate ordination on September 9. The Mass commenced at 8.30am at the oratory of St. Ignatius of Loyola, Loyola House of Studies, Ateneo de Manila University. The ordaining prelate was Bishop Luis Antonio Tagle, Bishop of Imus, Cavite.

From the Sports desk, on the 19th of August, MO volleyball team thumbed Arrupe team 3 sets to nil, halu-la-la! There will be a return match on Saturday the 26th. Let’s keep each other in prayers so that the God of our calling can bless our studies and all our works.
