New assignments in Myanmar

Categories: Uncategorized

As of October 28, 2006, Fr Paul Pollock, Superior of Myanmar Mission, assigned Bro Valerio Rireh to the St. Aloysius Gonzaga Language Institute, Taunggyi.  This will add to Bobo’s regency experiences and enable him to share in the newness of the ministries that are being created – both in Yangon and in Taunggyi. He will be assigned as a full time teacher of the Language Institute, and possibly have some extra work added on by Fr Wardi to help in various things for the novices.

On the same day, Fr Agustinus Purwantoro was designated Director of the Candidacy Program in Yangon. Fr Ipong has done a marvelous job in getting the Language
Institute developed and moving forward. Now he has a chance for a new experience in helping the Myanmar Mission. Fr Ipong will also be available for teaching in the Campion Institute and possibly in the Major Seminary.

Ms. Irene Ho will become the Directress of St. Aloysius Gonzaga Language Institute,
Taunggyi. She has already brought a great deal of professionalism to our school there, and now when Fr Ipong has a new assignment, she will take over the direction of the Language Institute and continue with her professional and most generous help to the Society of Jesus in Myanmar. We are all very indebted to her generous presence with us.
