Bro Htoi Shawng arrived in Bangkok last October 8, at the new Suvarnabhumi Airport. His first introduction to Thailand was a glorious one. He had already been registered at the Pra Mongkut Military Hospital, just near Xavier Hall, at the specialty clinic. He had his first appointment with the doctor on October 12, Thursday afternoon.
Htoi is not the only patient in the community these days. Fr Olivier Morin is still recovering from a serious motorcycle accident in June. After his consultations and much personal prayer, Olivier decided to have the left foot and part of the lower leg amputated. This procedure will give him an ordinary future — for walking, running, working, and his doctor said, even riding a motorcycle again!! The operation was made at Paolo Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, October 10. After a recovery period of ten days, he came back home to Xavier Hall. When the leg is fully healed, he will get the prosthesis, be back to life, and work as usual.
