Final Vows in Thailand

Categories: Uncategorized

The celebration last May 27 for Fr Sugiyo Pitoyo’s final vows went very well, and gave much consolation and happiness to all present. Almost all of the Jesuits residing in Thailand were able to attend; several priests from the Major Seminary came; and the church at Xavier Hall was full. There was an enjoyable dinner for the Jesuit community & close friends afterwards.

Bro. Chawalit Chaiyarak was also present, and there a chance to introduce him to the community who came for the 5 p.m. Mass. We invited everyone to come back for his final vows in about 20 years. “Top” will leave for Manila on May 31. He will join Gabriel, Michael, and Paul at the airport and the four of them will arrive to Arrupe together in time for the annual vacation of the scholastics’ community.

Fr Paul Pollock went to the “new superiors’ training seminar” in Rome. He left Bangkok in the early morning of June 3, and returned on the afternoon of June 11.
