Eleven second-year novices pronounced their first vows at St. Stanislaus Novitiate, Girisonta, Central Java, on June 24. Together with three former juniors from Arrupe International Residence, Manila, they will start their philosophy formation at Driyarkara School of Philosophy, Jakarta, beginning in the new academic year in September 2007.
On June 22, the Indonesian Jesuit Novitiate welcomed nine young promising candidates to join the Society. Most of them came from various minor seminaries in Indonesia and only one of them has finished his college education at Sanata Dharma Jesuit University, Yogyakarta.
In order to further building friendship in the mission, ninety-six scholastics (including some young priests) and young bothers will enjoy their quindine (six-day holiday) by visiting together some cultural and religious places in Bali on July 11-16. The theme of this once-in- three-years event is “Fostering Intercultural and Interreligious Dialogue”. Prior to that, on July 2-10, they will make their annual retreat in different small groups under the guidance of the tertians at Panti Semedi (the Place for Silent Prayer) Jesuit Retreat House, in Klaten, Central Java.
