Fr Ruedi Hofmann (IDO) had a fall. The wound he received became infected and he was hospitalized to take care of it. The main concern was his being allergic to antibiotics. They’ve solved that problem somehow. Hopefully, by this time he’s back in the Jesuit residence.

Fr John Mace returned from Rome on March 13. He shared his impressions of the GC and gave a short explanation of the six GC documents at the Community Meeting on March 25.

Three candidates have been accepted for the novitiate: Gemito (Jimmy) de Jesus (22), Armando (Mando) Smith (21) and Luis Pereira (24). They will enter on April 22, the day of the inauguration of Manresa Jesuit Novitiate in Dili, East Timor. The five Novices in Singapore will complete their novitiate there.

Fr Bambang Sipayung (IDO) returned on March 27 after a few weeks in Indonesia. He has identified a Project Director for the JRS Office here. Fr Bambang will return to his work in JRS/Indonesia in a few weeks.

Edmundo Oliveira de Jesus Maria left the Novitiate (Singapore) on March 11.

Fr Lalo Lebron will return to his original province, the Province of Paraguay. He plans to leave East Timor on April 20. All those in East Timor are grateful to Fr. Lalo, who has been a good companion for six years. Please pray for him as he departs and as he looks for a new assignment from his Provincial, Fr. Carlos Canillas.

Sch João Paulo Lobo, who is staying in Arrupe Residence in the Philippines, was playing football in the afternoon of March 28, when his knee suddenly buckled. He was taken to the hospital in middle of the night. He stayed at the Lucas Infirmary where he could be quiet to avoid further stress to his injured knee. After a few days, he returned to Arrupe.
