New Center to rise in Cambodia

A Piti Sangsong Akie, a ceremony of raising-up a building, and blessing of the land and construction site of the new Jesuit center in Phnom Penh Thmey was held on Monday, April 27, Feast of Saint Peter Canisius, at 9.00 am. Monks from the nearby Wat Somraong Ondaet were invited to officiate at the Piti Sangsong Akie. It was followed by a Catholic blessing. The occasion was an opportunity for the Jesuit Service staff to get to know their future neighbors. The name of the Jesuit center will be decided later.

Personnel movements
 
Br Ki-kyun Kim (KOR) is assigned to Treasurer of Cambodia Mission and to help accounting in Banteay Prieb. He will reside in Jesuit House. Br Su-yun Park (KOR) is assigned to the production team in Banteay Prieb. Both assignments will take effect on June 1.
 
Fr Stepanus Winarto (IDO) will arrive on May 14. He was sent on mission in Cambodia last April 1. Br Mark Lopez (PHI) will arrive on May 18 for his regency. Both will have exposure to the mission for three weeks after Jub’s ordination. Afterwards, they will study Khmner for three months in Battambang. Fr Joaqui Salord (TAR) will return on May 15 from his sabbatical in Spain.
 
Fr Gabriel Je (KOR), Delegate of the Korean Provincial, will be in Korea from May 07 – 21. During his stay in Korea, he will gather benefactors for the Cambodia Mission, give a lecture to one of the parishes in Busan Diocese, and attend a festival on May 17, organized by Fr. Lee.
