EAPI Alumni Homecoming

The annual Alumni Homecoming was held this year in the afternoon of October 7. Months before this, invitations were sent mostly to the alumni and friends who are based all over the Philippines. For this year’s highlight, Sr. Inigo Joachim, SSA gave an hour open lecture on The Power of The Word. Everyone was amazed at her memory of citing and quoting a biblical passage from both the Old and New Testaments; at the same time, learning valuable lessons of integrating these passages into one’s life and ministry and to help transform and change the life of the other. Indeed, the Word is so powerful that even the most hardened heart can be softened and transformed into a loving one!

Around 60 alumni, former staff and friends graced the homecoming. With the current participants and staff members welcoming them, it was truly a moment of catching up with the latest news and personal updates with everyone. The alumni, of course, were all excited especially to make a tour and see the latest physical progress of their beloved EAPI. From the meditation garden, Hana No Koe (The Sound of Flowers), to the new location of the basketball and volleyball courts in between the Hofinger Building and Calle Hall (Hostel 1) and then to the new 2 gazebos next to the courts. But what amazed them more were the neat, orderly and well-kept gardens and grounds around the EAPI.

The event culminated with the celebration of the Eucharist presided by Fr Jeyaraj Rasiah (SRI), EAPI Director, to which a wonderful dinner and a program of dances and songs prepared and performed by participants and staff members alike followed afterwards.
