The Asia Pacific region is four times more likely than Africa to experience natural hazards and 25 times more likely than Europe or North America. The risks and impact of these events lead our Jesuit Conference to plan for preventive, communication and response strategies. In addition to assisting in disaster relief, many Jesuit organisations are also involved in post-disaster reconstruction, livelihood assistance and capability building in disaster risk reduction for vulnerable communities.
