Congratulations to Fr Chris Wilcock (ASL) on the world premiere of his a capella setting of Cardinal Newman’s text Peace at last, which was beautifully sung by the Newman College Choir from the dining room dome at the end of a College council dinner on March 26.

St Ignatius College, Riverview, has been introducing various initiatives to promote care for the environment. An example is the installation of the eco-driver. This is a TV screen – displayed in a prominent place – which shows, in column-graph format, the quantity of electrical energy being used in the school each day. When the student-run environment club endorses an action, such as switching off — at the socket in the wall — computers not in use, all can see how much energy that saves.
