Four days after his ordination, on June 12, Fr Samonte celebrated his Thanksgiving Mass in his hometown in Tacloban. He will soon begin his ministry as Assistant Parish Priest of St Therese of the Child Jesus Parish in Miarayon, Bukidnon.
