Fr Winaryanta reflects on his journey and shares his gratitude upon making his Final Vows in the Society of Jesus.

I am grateful that by living the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience, my intention to serve God has grown stronger. Though these vows seem restrictive to some, they have actually helped me develop personally and in my ministry. I think of these vows like the supporting pillars for climbing plants: they provide structure and security, allowing the plants to grow properly and bear fruit.
Taking my Final Vows is not the end of my journey but a new opportunity to fully dedicate myself to the Society of Jesus. For over a decade, the Society has nurtured and shaped me like a loving mother, accepting both my weaknesses and strengths. Now, through my Final Vows, I have the opportunity to give back— to nurture and strengthen the Society just as a child returns love to their mother. I am grateful for the trust the Society has placed in me, and I pray that I may become a son who makes the Society proud and always brings greater glory to God.
